Gilberto Zorio was born in Andorno Micca, Biella. Solo exhibitions have been dedicated to the artist’s work by prestigious Institutions: the Kunstmuseum, Luzern (1976); Stadelijk Museum, Amsterdam (1979); Centro d’Arte Contemporanea, Syracuse (1983); Centre d’Art Contemporain, Genèvre (1986); Musée National d’Art Modern, Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris (1986); Tel Aviv Museum, Tel Aviv (1987); Stedelijk van Abbemuseum, Eindhoven (1987); Musée d’Art Moderne et Contemporain, Nice, Centro per l’Arte Contemporanea Luigi Pecci, Prato (1992); Galleria Civica d’Arte Contemporanea, Trento (1996); Istituto Italiano di Cultura, Toronto (2000); Le Creux de l’enfer Centre d’Art Contemporain, Thiers (2005); MAMbo – Museo d’Arte Moderna, Bologna (2009); Macro, Museo d’Arte Contemporanea, Rome (2010); CGAC Centro Galego de Arte Contemporánea, Santiago de Compostela (2010); MAXXI, Rome (2011). He has partecipated at several editions (‘78, ‘80, ‘86, ‘95, ’97, ‘13) of the Venice Biennal.
