About Centro Pecci

Contemporary art Centre Luigi Pecci, Prato
Contemporary art Centre Luigi Pecci, Prato

People come to Centro Pecci to turn life into art — to discover what’s happening in contemporary creativity, to awaken the senses and feel something new, to open up new horizons for themselves and their children.

Since 1988, Centro Pecci has presented exhibitions and events by Italian and international artists, and it houses a library and archive focused on contemporary art.
In 2016, a major architectural expansion gave the museum its bold new look — a kind of spaceship, full of activities for the public and ready to launch into new experiences.
On behalf of the Region of Tuscany, Centro Pecci also promotes and supports contemporary art across the region.

At Centro Pecci, you can visit the permanent collection and exhibitions, watch films in their original language at the cinema, take part in art workshops, and join conversations about books, current events, art, and film. You can play in the playground, eat and drink at the MYO restaurant or at Cargo Bistrot. With the museum’s late-night openings, you can discover new sounds and movements — even dance. Artworks are preserved and studied here. You can read, study in the library, do research in the archive, and find books and special objects in the bookshop. All of this comes together to help make your life a work of art.

Since 2022, with support from the PNRR program for removing physical, cognitive, and sensory barriers, Centro Pecci has been working toward becoming a fully accessible and sustainable space.
