Thomas Virnich


biography

Eschweiler, Germany, 1957. He lives and works in Mönchengladbach-Neuwerk.

 

Virnich Thomas is a German sculptor and painter. From 1978 to 1981 he studied at the Technical University of Aachen in Bandau Joachim, then changed to the Düsseldorf Art Academy, where he studied until 1985, when Alfonso Hüppi Gominger and Eugene. 1983 Virnich had a first solo exhibition at Art Cologne, and received a Förderkoje. Prize of North Rhine-Westphalia Fine Arts in 1985 and he received the Niedersachsen Art Prize 2001. Virnich produces large colorful sculptures, which often proliferate and in which everyday objects and drop objects are integrated. Since 1992 he teaches at the College of Fine Arts in Braunschweig.
