From October 14 to 17, 2025, IED Florence inaugurates the new Academic Year with the program Welcome Day 2025 – The Future as an Act of Trust: a series of talks and workshops dedicated to accessibility as a form of culture and to trust as an educational and design principle.

After the sessions hosted at the Florence campus in Via Bufalini, the Centro per l’Arte Contemporanea Luigi Pecci in Prato will welcome the final day of the program on Friday, October 17, featuring a day of lectures and workshops titled:

“What choices guide accessibility in a contemporary art museum?”

IED Florence students will explore the museum’s collections and ongoing exhibitions — Eccentrica. The Collections of Centro Pecci and Vivono. Art and Affections, HIV-AIDS in Italy, 1982–1996 — before working in groups to co-design a museum accessibility tool, in the form of a fanzine conceived for a peer audience.

The activity will be led by Irene Innocente, Rita Duina, and Eugenia Calamati from the Centro Pecci Education Team.

The day of October 17 will be a moment of exchange and collective reflection on how art, design, and education can open new spaces for accessibility and belonging.
