Reducing The Tempo To Zero is a sound research performance for voice and electronics which creates a close relationship between the public, the space and the sound. It lasts about 2 hours and investigates the relationship between listener, memory and concentration. During the performance the public is free to “go in and out”, experiencing the sound space, while a choir of voices alternates the development of the composition using transformations and phonetic combinations based on repetition and improvisation which question habitual notions of duration and tempo.

Ben Vida is an American artist and composer living and working in New York. His works have also been presented at the Guggenheim Museum (New York) The Museum of Contemporary Art (Chicago), The Institute of Contemporary Art (London), The Kitchen (New York), Sydney Opera House.
