A Hero by Asghar Farhadi
A Hero by Asghar Farhadi

Rahim is in prison for a debt he hasn't been able to repay. During a two-day leave, he tries to convince the creditor to withdraw his complaint in exchange for payment of part of the sum. But things don't go as planned...

"Shot at eye level, A Hero is the perfect social film that imposes no morality on the audience and offers a glimpse of the digital age in Iran. Amir Jadidi, incredibly confident and hopelessly defeated, is the hero of the title and of a film where everyone is right and everyone is wrong. Everyone judges according to their own personal criteria (and interests). Once again, Farhadi's cinema reminds us that there are too many shadows in the light to hold on to our own version of the world. Always partial, always subjective." (Marzia Gandolfi)

The film is part of the series I Tulipani dell'Iran, in collaboration with the associations: Donne Libere Iraniane, Donna Vita Libertà Firenze, and Mabuse Cineclub.
