Four brothers live in a large family villa in the hills of Piacenza with their blind mother. Augusto, the eldest, is the only one with a job. Giulia is morbidly in love with him. The other two are Leone, who suffers from mental retardation, and Ale, a neurotic and solitary character. It is the latter who will upset the already precarious family balance.

"Fists in the Pocket" remains one of the most extraordinary and dazzling debuts in the history of cinema. More than a film, it is a systematic, surgical, and merciless demolition of the bourgeois family, portrayed as a decadent and imploding social cell. Many consider it to be Marco Bellocchio's masterpiece. A must-see for Italian cinema.

The 4K restoration of "Fists in the Pocket" (1965, Italy) was promoted by the Fondazione Cineteca di Bologna in collaboration with Kavac Film, with the support of Giorgio Armani and curated by Marco Bellocchio. At the director's request, the kissing sequence was reinstated in the film's edit.
