On a dark and stormy night, engaged Brad and Janet, two wealthy suburbanites, get lost in the woods when their car breaks down and decide to seek help at the nearest house, a far from reassuring-looking castle about to host the Annual Transylvanian Convention. Once inside, they end up being held hostage by the devious Frank-N-Furter (and his extravagant entourage) and discover that the sweet transvestite is engaged in an experiment: bringing the handsome and muscular Rocky Horror to life and turning him into his personal sex toy.
Timeless, with legions of masked followers still attending screenings around the world. An irreverent hymn to sexual pleasures (of all tastes and genders), it's a multi-faceted spectacle that combines disguised aliens and haunted houses, all underpinned by a powerful kitsch-rock soundtrack. Susan Sarandon was memorable, unleashing the senses of a trembling American bride. The reasons for such a multi-epochal success may remain mysterious, but such is the nature of cult objects.
