The program of events promoted by the Rete del Contemporaneo in Toscana continues with a guided visit dedicated to contemporary sculpture within the landscape of the Parco della Padula, one of the most evocative sites in Carrara for the dialogue between art and nature.

Starting from the CARMI Museo Carrara e Michelangelo, located in Villa Fabbricotti and devoted to the figure of the great Renaissance sculptor and to his relationship with Carrara, marble and the art of sculpture, the guided walk will lead visitors through the important artworks installed throughout the park. The artistic route was inaugurated in 2000 with a work by Anne and Patrick Poirier, and expanded in 2002 on the occasion of the exhibition Scolpire il marmo, curated by the renowned contemporary art collector Giuliano Gori for the XI International Sculpture Biennial of Carrara, with the aim of creating a dialogue between contemporary art and landscape.

Along the route visitors will encounter works by Ian Hamilton Finlay, Dani Karavan, Sol LeWitt, Luigi Mainolfi, Mario Merz, Robert Morris, Claudio Parmiggiani, and Anne and Patrick Poirier.

The visit will be guided by environmental art scholar Olga Magnani.
