Luigi Ghirri is the most renowned Italian postwar photographer worldwide. This exhibition presents a unique opportunity to explore a rarely exhibited aspect of his work.
The Centro Pecci exhibition Luigi Ghirri. Polaroid ‘79–‘83, curated by Chiara Agradi and Stefano Collicelli Cagol and organized in collaboration with the Luigi Ghirri Foundation, presents a wide selection of Polaroids of various formats taken by Ghirri between 1979 and 1983.
At the time, the Polaroid company provided the photographer with an ample supply of film and cameras, and invited him to Amsterdam to experiment with the gigantic model developed at the company’s European headquarters to create extra-large Polaroids.
