Museums are a place to reflect on the present through the many languages of art, and art offers a different way to understand history.

Moving through the rooms of the permanent collection, focused on art from the second half of the twentieth century onward, students will explore recent history and connect it to current events — from World War II to globalization, the internet, and today’s climate crisis, passing through the Cold War, the assassination of JFK, the moon landing, the fall of the Berlin Wall, and September 11 — all through artworks created in different visual languages. In the workshop, they will transform the ideas they have explored into a personal visual mind map.

    • Duration: 2 hours
    • Cost: €65 + €3 museum admission per student
