In Oslo, two chimney sweeps reveal secrets to one another with unexpected, sometimes tragicomic consequences. One, a devoted husband and father, confesses to a sexual encounter with a man out of curiosity, but insists he’s still heterosexual. The other is haunted by dreams where he feels desired “like a woman” under David Bowie’s gaze. Haugerud's trilogy (Sex Dreams Love) begins with Sex—the final film released in Italian theaters—exploring desire through candid dialogue and restrained visuals. Haugerud examines masculinity, identity, and relationships through minimalism, humor, and emotional depth. The men in Sex are average, grounded individuals who embark on journeys of introspection and vulnerability.
