  • Curated by Stefano Collicelli Cagol and Elena Magini

Centro per l’arte contemporanea Luigi Pecci is proud to present "Diego Marcon. Glassa" : the forthcoming exhibition will represent the largest display of the artist Diego Marcon artworks in an Italian institution, opening to the public from the 30th September to the 4th February 2024.

Museum Director Stefano Collicelli Cagol approached Marcon in January 2022, who is widely considered to be one of the most interesting artists currently working on the international contemporary scene. Ten rooms of the Gamberini Hall have been completely transformed by Marcon`s artistic vision, becoming a unified and coherent immersive experience which features both brand new artworks designed ad-hoc for Centro Pecci.

This work of Marcon, on the border between cinema and visual arts, aims to investigate the relationship between reality and moving images. "Glassa" represents a combination of confectionery sweetness and ice-cold, choreographing the movement of visitors in space, considering the use of empty space, the passage of time, changes in light. The exhibition includes the film 'Dolle', the winner project of the “PAC2021 - Piano per l’Arte Contemporanea” promoted by the Directorate General of Contemporary Creativity of the Ministry of Culture.

The collaboration with architect Andrea Faraguna adds value to the experience.
