His artistic experience began in Florence at the Accademia di Belle Arti and thereafter developed and continues to this day in Milan where he has been living since the early 70s. His initial works display a strong spirit of interactivity with the places the artist has lived in, which the observer cannot fail to notice. As the exponent of the generation following the Arte Povera and Conceptual art movements, Remo Salvadori, together with a few other personalities at a European level, enlarges the conceptual scope and formulation of art work. It is the vehicle and the final result of the attention that the author pays to what surrounds him and his inner feelings in close interrelationship with reality. He participated in the Venice Biennales in 1982, 1986 and 1993 and in the Documenta in Kassel in 1982 and 1992 as well as in many big shows such as The European Iceberg at the Art Gallery of Ontario in 1985, Chambres d’amis in Ghent in 1986 in Happiness: A Survival Guide for Art and Life, the inaugural exhibition at the Mori Art Museum in Tokyo in 2003. His biggest and most important solo shows have been at the Magasin, Centre National d’Art Contemporain in Grenoble in 1991, at the Centro per l’Arte Contemporanea Luigi Pecci, in Prato in 1997 and at the Fondazione Querini Stampalia, in Venice in 2005 and another important exhibition at the Cardi in 2007 and in 2010 a group show at the GAMEC in Bergamo Il grande gioco, Forme d’Arte in Italia 1947-1989.
