The Navacchio Technology Hub and the Fondazione per le Arti Contemporanee in Toscana – Centro per l'arte contemporanea Luigi Pecci have signed a collaboration agreement to develop joint initiatives bringing together technological innovation and contemporary culture.
The partnership stems from a shared commitment to connect two ecosystems that may appear distant at first glance but are in fact deeply complementary. On one side is the Navacchio Technology Hub, Tuscany's leading innovation and technology transfer hub, home to more than 60 SMEs, startups and research centres. On the other is Centro Pecci, Italy's first institution purpose-built for contemporary art, which has long been committed to fostering dialogue between art, innovation, society and culture through exhibitions, artistic production, research and interdisciplinary programmes.
The collaboration will focus on the development of open innovation initiatives, workshops, hackathons and training programmes exploring the intersections of art, creativity and innovation. It will also promote the experimentation of new models for community engagement and the joint participation in regional, national and European funding opportunities.
Planned activities include interdisciplinary laboratories bringing together artists, startups and research centres; cross-sector collaborations between businesses and creative professionals; events exploring the relationship between art, technology and artificial intelligence; and the design of new digital cultural experiences.
The agreement, which has an initial duration of 12 months and may be renewed, combines the strengths of both organisations. The Navacchio Technology Hub will contribute its ecosystem of startups, innovative SMEs, research centres and national and international partners, while Centro Pecci will bring its expertise in cultural production, artistic research, interdisciplinary experimentation and the design of public engagement programmes.
