The first cycle of SUPERTOSCANA has officially begun, the new residency program dedicated to emerging artists and curators, promoted by the Centro per l’arte contemporanea Luigi Pecci and supported by the Regione Toscana through the FSE+ 2021–2027 programme.

Since April 7, 2026, Centro Pecci has welcomed the first group of artists and curators under 36 — selected from over 385 applications — marking the beginning of the initial phase of interdisciplinary training in Prato.

The program is conceived as a platform bridging education and professional practice, structured through residencies, mentoring, and direct exchange with professionals from the contemporary art system.

The training phase, organized by Centro Pecci and coordinated by Michele Bertolino with Gabriella Kolandra as tutor, includes talks, workshops, and moments of dialogue that connect artistic practices, critical thinking, and professional skills.

Today, April 23, 2026, the project was officially presented to the press, marking its first public moment of sharing.

SUPERTOSCANA involves a total of 20 participants divided into two seven-month cycles, developed in collaboration with a network of institutions across Tuscany. The program will conclude with a group exhibition and the publication of a catalogue.

The artists and curators of the first cycle are:

Arianna Tremolanti, Marco-Augusto Basso, Carolina Cappelli, Li Cui, Gaia De Megni, Giulia Menegale, Beatrice Miniaci, Rebeca Pak, Peng Shuai Paolo, Colin St. Mary

The artists and curators of the second cycle are:

Alessia Bressan, Lorenzo Bretagna, Enrico Camprini, Elena Di Battista, Johannes Equizi, Claudia Mangone, Marta Morandini, Aman Novara, Beatrice Spadea, Ilê Sartuzi
