Buenos Aires, 2008. After thirty-three years spent in Italy, Mariano Guerra—an Italian doctor—returns to Argentina to testify at the trial of the former military officers who abducted, tortured, and enslaved him during the military dictatorship.

Mariano is one of the few survivors of that tragedy, carrying a burden that no court verdict can lighten. His return to Buenos Aires forces him to confront what it means to have survived.
