This October, CineBrividi returns to Centro Pecci Cinema with horror classics, new discoveries and filmmaker Q&As. For CineBrividi Incontri, Ambra Principato presents Invisibili, a story of the supernatural, grief and growing up, and joins the audience for a discussion before and after the screening.
The film's director will be present in the theater.
The story of Elise, a girl for whom invisibility is a prison, and Tommy, a boy who wishes to disappear to escape his pain. A bond forms between them, helping both to confront their fears. An intense tale about accepting pain and coming of age.
The film triumphed at the fifth edition of the 2026 Vespertilio Awards (held on May 23–25, 2026, at the Teatro Marconi in Rome), winning 5 statuettes out of 16 nominations, including Best Film, Best Director (Ambra Principato), and Best Actress (Sara Ciocca).
"Director and screenwriter Ambra Principato continues along the path she so convincingly established with her debut film, Hai mai avuto paura?.
And rightly so, for she is among the few—and the only woman—in Italy working in a Gothic genre that blends horror, thriller, and romance. She draws heavily from global (particularly Anglo-Saxon) cinema in this genre while adding an intriguing 'local' signature, carrying on the legacy of filmmakers like Bava and Argento. Principato demonstrates great formal precision and ventures into the realms of spirituality and the supernatural with remarkable boldness, employing high-quality special effects." (Paola Casella)
