The Centro per l’arte contemporanea Luigi Pecci in Prato announces that from Saturday May 8 it will welcome visitors once again, with full safety measures in place and three new exhibitions: the anticipated retrospective dedicated to Chiara Fumai Poems I Will Never Release 2007-2017, co-produced with the Centre d’art contemporain in Geneva; the solo exhibition by the photographer Marialba Russo Cult Fiction, and the video review After Us, a poetic but acute diagnosis of the present, curated by the artist Julian Rosefeldt and produced by Fondazione In Between Art Film.

The museum can be visited from Wednesday to Friday from 12.00 pm to 8.00 pm (no booking required), and Saturday and Sunday from 11.00 am to 8.00 pm (booking required) (for more information visit www.centropecci.it/visit). The admission fee will be reduced for the first week (7 euros).

“Considerable female participation, important collaborations with international institutions, attention to research, experimentation and multidisciplinarity,” says Cristiana Perrella, Director of Centro Pecci, “are the cornerstones of the new and generous exhibition proposal for the next few months presented by Centro Pecci, which is confident of a return to being open permanently.”

The exhibitions offered with the reopening will be joined on 15 May by Cambio, a multidisciplinary project by the famous duo Formafantasma – crowned designer of the year for the magazines Wallpaper* and Dezeen – which highlights the crucial role and responsibility of design towards the environment and offers an important reflection on the role of trees understood as sources of information and sensors of global climate change. The exhibition is in collaboration with the Serpentine Gallery in London.

On 19 June Centro Pecci’s programme continues with No Hurry, curated by Luca Lo Pinto and Elena Magini, a solo exhibition by Simone Forti (Florence, 1935) – artist, dancer, choreographer, originally from Prato, who lives and works in Los Angeles – focusing on a series of works that the artist developed from the mid-Eighties, News Animation, which analyses the relationship between language, movement and physicality, starting with the news reported in newspapers.

The new exhibition events will be accompanied by publications forming part of the museum’s editorial series (now in its third year and published by NERO Editions) which now includes an important corpus of titles that relate contemporary art to major issues of the present-day.
