In England during the second half of the 19th century, Alice, a curious young girl, is lying on a lawn while her older sister reads her a history lesson. She falls asleep and dreams of falling down a hole, thereby entering a fantasy world where she meets curious characters.
Produced by Walt Disney Productions and based primarily on Lewis Carroll's book Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, with some additional elements from Through the Looking-Glass. It is the 13th Disney animated feature film, released in the United States on July 28, 1951, distributed by RKO Radio Pictures following its world premiere in London on July 26. The film premiered in Italy at the 1951 Venice Film Festival.
