This October, CineBrividi returns to Centro Pecci Cinema with horror classics, new discoveries and filmmaker Q&As. As part of the Halloween marathon on 31 October, Na Hong-jin’s Hope receives its Italian premiere: a mysterious creature throws a small South Korean town into chaos, blending horror, action and science fiction.
In Hope Harbor, a small South Korean town near the DMZ, cows begin to die, torn apart by what appears to be a tiger or some ferocious beast. Before long, the town is thrown into chaos by the arrival of a mysterious, superhumanly strong creature that goes on a murderous rampage. The bumbling police lieutenant Bum-seok and his team hunt the monster, eventually making incredible discoveries about its true nature.

Na Hong-jin’s Hope will receive its Italian premiere on Saturday 31 October at 9:00 pm, as part of CineBrividi’s Halloween marathon, ahead of its Italian theatrical release on 5 November.
On Saturday 31 October, CineBrividi celebrates Halloween with a film marathon at Centro Pecci Cinema, from the afternoon until late into the night. The programme begins at 4:30 pm with the endless highway of It Ends, followed at 6:30 pm by the music and irreverence of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. At 9:00 pm, Na Hong-jin’s Hope receives its Italian premiere, while at 11:55 pm, Wes Craven’s Scream rounds off the night by playing with the rules of horror cinema. All films are screened in their original language with Italian subtitles.
"The great Korean director returns ten years after his previous film, The Wailing (Goksung), with a spectacular, grand-scale, and deliberately imperfect movie. Hope is—by turns or all at once—a monster movie, a frenetic action flick, a zany comedy, and a sci-fi film of near-epic ambition, crafted by a filmmaker with a cinematic sensibility like few others."
