Lecture by Fabio Cavallucci
Fabio Cavallucci, director of the Centro Pecci, presents an atypical crib to guide you through pre-Romanticism and Neoclassicism. These movements seem at first to continue the naturalistic line from Giotto to Baroque through the Renaissance, but on close inspection they are actually an introduction to the deformations, flattenings and geometrical forms which were to develop into abstractionism and the various styles of the 20th century.
A course for anyone wanting to know more about 19th-century art and music, a simple, synthetic tool for improving your knowledge, for polishing up on the main events of the 19th century, for preparing a conceptual map for future in-depth study. Every week (Mon and Wed, from 21:00 to 23:00), recognized experts introduce the public to the protagonists and masterpieces of 19th-century art and music and uncover the roots of contemporary culture.
