Lecture by Alberto Batisti
Alberto Battisti, the artistic director of the Chamber Music Group “Città di Prato”, guides you through your listening to the work of this German composer. With his theorisation of the total work of art (Gesamtkunstwerk), Wagner revolutionized the relationship between man and time and time and space, opening up new horizons for the theatre, for musical composition technique, for the meaning and the mission of art in general.
A course for anyone wanting to know more about 19th-century art and music, a simple, synthetic tool for improving your knowledge, for polishing up on the main events of the 19th century, for preparing a conceptual map for future in-depth study.
