Lecture by Graziella Battaglia
The art historian Graziella Battaglia recounts the genesis and development of one of the most subversive and influential “movements” of the 19th century, paying particular attention to the lesser-known aspects, including the innovative exhibition and promotion strategies pursued by the movement and its popularity with critics and collectors in early 20th-century Tuscany.
A course for anyone wanting to know more about 19th-century art and music, a simple, synthetic tool for improving your knowledge, for polishing up on the main events of the 19th century, for preparing a conceptual map for future in-depth study. Every week (Mon and Wed, from 21:00 to 23:00), recognized experts introduce the public to the protagonists and masterpieces of 19th-century art and music and uncover the roots of contemporary culture.
