We live in an age of constant uncertainty, where the future is often perceived as a threat. We used to believe that in modernity we would be able to leave behind those fears which had pervaded life in the past; we believed that we would be able to take control of our lives. And yet we, who enjoy more safety and comfort than ever before, live in a constant state of alarm.
Indecipherability of the present, post-ideological disorientation, the terror alert: these are the themes which we will face together with the great sociologist Zygmunt Bauman. A 360 degree look at the main issues of the present, to try to imagine a different future.
